COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS
Accelerating Circularity Projects
Goodwill Industries International (GII)
ACP supported GII to develop skills, systems, and infrastructure at local Goodwills to transform unsold textile donations into rFeedstocks in regional hubs. The work was founded in a full-year, seasonal sorting study of unprecedented scale, learning from which informed the development of four distinct textile circularity hub business models. The project demanded and enabled new ways of working among members of the network, with participation from more than 25 Goodwills and facilitated connections with dozens of industry stakeholders.
Circular Systems for Trims and Ignored Materials (CSTIM)
Circular Systems for Trims and Ignored Materials (CSTIM) brings together major trims manufacturers to develop guidance on the recyclability of trims in commercial textile-textile recycling systems. The group intends to share specific recommendations by material content and trim type.
Building Circular Systems America’s
Building Circular Systems focuses on 3 key areas of work:
Building Markets
We convene stakeholders across the entire value chain—from collectors and sorters and recyclers to brands and retailers—to create commercial supply chains for textile-to-textile recycling. This approach focuses on building systems for recycling cotton, polyester, and man-made cellulosics.
Textile Use Hierarchy
We are developing a tool that will guide textile flows through the channels with the highest circular potential.
Market Education
We offer resources to educate brands and institutions on methods to best manage the next life for used textiles.
Alliance of Chemical Textile Recyclers (ACTR)
The Alliance of Chemical Textile Recyclers (ACTR) working group brings together textile chemical recyclers to address the textile industry with a common voice for chemical recycling, including developing a dictionary of common terms and the development of FAQs. Included are technologies covering cotton, polyester and blended materials.
